Credit Life Insurance
This is designed to help pay off or reduce a borrower's
loan balance in the event of the borrower's covered death.
It is available with most consumer loans and is a voluntary
purchase. Since it is tied to the length of the loan term,
it can be a good deal for most purchasers.
Credit Disability Insurance
This is designed to help pay the total or partial monthly
payments of a loan in the event the borrower becomes ill
or falls victim to a covered accident or injury and is unable
to work. The benefit is calculated per day of total disability.
It is available with most consumer loans and is a voluntary
purchase. Since it is usually for a limited term - the projected
length of a loan, it can be a good deal for most consumers.
Credit insurance is underwritten by Life Investors Insurance
Company of America (home office- Cedar Rapids , IA. ) and
is available to credit union members in California only.
Exclusions, limitations and terms of availability apply to
this coverage. For cost and complete details, contact your
loan officer.
Mortgage Life Insurance
This is designed to help pay off or reduce the mortgage
balance in the event of the borrower's covered death. It
is available with most mortgage loans, although it is not
mandatory to purchase. The primary reason most borrowers
purchase this insurance is to protect what is usually their
largest asset - their home.
Mortgage Disability Insurance
This is designed to help pay the total or partial monthly
mortgage payments in the event the borrower becomes ill or
falls victim to a covered accident or injury and is unable
to work. The benefit is calculated per day of total disability.
It is available with most mortgage loans, although it is
not mandatory to purchase. The primary reason most borrowers
purchase this insurance is to keep their home, protect their
credit rating and not place additional strain on the household
budget in the event of disability.
Mortgage insurance is decreasing term life and disability
insurance and is underwritten by Monumental Life Insurance
Company (Home Office- Baltimore, MD.). Benefits are paid
to the beneficiary you select. You remain liable to pay the
mortgage loan. Available to credit union members in California

Claims Handling
Our insurance carriers’ claims teams meet the industry's
most rigorous performance standards. Claim forms are mailed
to members within 24 hours of receiving notice of a claim,
and inquiries are always handled with care and respect. Along
with quick claims turnaround, CRI’s Admin
eSuite system provides clients with another major advantage.
Credit unions have the option of maintaining information
on each insured in the carrier's on-line database - saving a credit
union time. A toll-free customer service line ensures the
credit union will never be out of touch.
Account Development and Training
Educational RESOURCES
System |
CRI’s Educational RESOURCES System
(ERS) offers more than a variety of training options — it
integrates five major components that are crucial to
the long-term success of your credit union ’s
insurance programs.
|

|
1. Assessments & Goal
Setting
We will analyze your credit union's unique structure,
membership segment, objectives and insurance performance
to establish realistic goals. We then tailor a success
plan that meets your credit union's individual needs.
2. Monitoring & Rewards
Working with your credit union, CRI will design
incentive contests that support your credit insurance
objectives and provide announcement materials to
help kick-off the contest.
3. Credit Union Reinforcement Tools
CRI's colorful accolades and memos provide you with
a wide variety of reinforcements to recognize and
help motivate staff with minimum effort on your part.
4. Training
On-site Training- This training
is conducted by one of our trainers at the Credit
Union. CRI has developed a series of training "modules" to
help a credit union's lending staff better promote
credit insurance products. Each training session
falls under one of four critical topics: Product
Knowledge, Cross-Servicing Skills, Communication
Skills and Management and Motivation Skills.
On-line Training- This self-directed,
animated, interactive training module tests participants
on their product knowledge. It can be accessed by
the credit union staff at anytime through CRI's website*,
making it very convenient. * You must be a CRI client
credit union and obtain a password from CRI's client
services department or your local agent.
WebEx® Training- This training
uses a specialized web service (WebEx®) to offer
free, customized training. Participants are linked
to a CRI trainer via phone and internet. Since your
credit union staff can interact and ask questions,
it’s the next best thing to on-site training.
5. Sales Aids
CRI's attractive brochures help your members understand
the value and need for credit insurance protection.
Your lending staff will find this tool helpful in
presenting credit insurance. |
Marketing Support
CRI's marketing department provides client credit unions
with a wealth of value-added support services - most at little
to no charge. CRI's marketing materials include:
Turnkey Marketing Kits
If a client credit union is looking for fresh marketing
ideas, using a step-by-step goal-oriented approach, CRI can
help. This CRI "first" lets credit unions "expand" their
marketing departments by providing turnkey kits on each insurance
product. Using a goal chart, credit unions plot their objectives
and match them to specific marketing components that are
ready-to-go.
Point-of-Purchase Materials
Educating members about the value of credit and mortgage
insurance is easier with attractive, eye-catching display
materials. Brochures, posters, counter cards and more are
an ideal way to carry the message and they are available
at no charge to CRI clients..
Newsletters
Credit unions are always kept informed and up-to-date through
CRI's U.S. and Canadian newsletters, published once a quarter.
Articles and Ad Slicks
CRI provides client credit unions with articles and camera-ready
ad slicks explaining the value of credit and mortgage insurance.
Credit union newsletter editors suddenly find their job much
easier by having these materials on-hand and available. The
ad slicks are available in multiple sizes.
Incentive Contests
Working with Account Development, CRI marketing offers
client credit unions tailored incentive programs designed
to motivate and recognize credit union staff. CRI incentive
programs complement a credit union's specific goals, and
are formulated to provide measurable results.
From interactive training programs to motivational tools
to insurance performance tracking, CRI’s performance
improvement system helps your credit union achieve greater
member insurance participation and increase all member services.
The Educational Resources System designs a success plan that
is easy to implement and gets results. CRI tailors our system
to meet your needs.
